Newbie Guides A Trouble Free PC Keep Your PC Clean

Keep Your Computer Cleancleaning a mouse

This section covers a subject that every new computer user seems to be good at. You have you brand spanking new machine sitting on its desk and clean it daily with great pride. As you become more familiar with the working of your PC the cleaning tends to get neglected. The first realisation that something is wrong is when your mouse starts jumping erratically across the screen as you move the mouse or pressing a key does not have any response.

Dust can also make the chips inside your computer run hotter as well as clog cooling vents and fans. Computers that are situated near the ground appear to accumulate more dust than those that are placed higher, such as on the desk. Also placing computers near windows causes an unnecessary build up of dust inside your computers case. The sunlight coming in from the window can very quickly fade the cases of you monitor and system.

If you ever have the case off your computer take the opportunity to give it a spring clean. The least you should do is blow out the dust. Do not wipe it with a rag; use either your breath or an aerosol can of compressed air. An old small paintbrush is useful for cleaning fans and vents.

Your mouse and keyboard will also need regular cleaning. You can pop off the keyboard keys using the cap of a BiC pen, to get at dirt and hair underneath the keys. You can also remove the mouse ball to clean it and the rollers inside. Use a commercial spray cleanser applied to a cotton swab to clean your keyboard, mouse, system case, monitor, printer etc.
